Season of Serenity - A time for quiet contemplation and meditation

Fall is one of those in between times where we allow time for self-care routines that help prepare us for the upcoming winter season. I call this time of the year the season of serenity. We adapt and change with each new season and fall is a good time to remind ourselves of a few basic daily routines that can help us maintain balance.

Recommendations:

1. Move the body at least 10-20 minutes each day using basic yoga asanas and breathing techniques and include 5 minutes of meditations, of course if time permits allow more time for daily movement and meditation.

2. Spend some quality time alone or with friends doing an activity that helps you feel a sense of calm. I like to go for walks in nature and notice the beauty of the natural environment.

3. Avoid over extending yourself and focus on the activities that you can manage by setting a priority and when things feel hectic or overwhelming tyr to realize what is feasible for you to accomplish.

4. Plan your day, setup a personal routine that puts you in charge can help you avoid being pulled in too many directions throughout the day.

5. Stay warm from the inside by drinking warm tea or enjoy more soups.  And on the outside by taking warm baths or showers.  Use the colors of fall to inspire the layers of clothing you wear to protect yourself from the chillier temperatures outside.

Namaste,
