Letting Go

Letting Go

Can you let go of the outcome in order to enjoy every moment of your yoga practice more deeply?

Think about how you approach your favorite yoga practice. Sometimes the asanas (postures) become routine. We anticipate how the instructor will guide us into the asana practice and that at the end we will achieve the final resting pose. After our class we are off to the next thing that we have planned. There is very little time between these transitions from one activity to the next in our daily lives. And this is why the transitions between the asanas are important. At the end of one asana and prior to going on to the next is a time for letting go. Letting go of judgement about how we just performed, and not anticipating how we might express the asana  coming next. The most important aspect of the yoga practice are the transitions that are timeless and full of possibility, intuitive body-mind connections that leave us filled with a deep sense of satisfaction.

Let the momentary pauses between your asanas and in your life help make your next step on this long road richer and more meaningful experience.

Namaste
