The Happy Feeling - New Discovery About Yoga and Happiness

I was just reading an article that proposed the question : "Can Practicing Yoga Make You Happy?"

Well, this is something that I have fondly admired about yoga for a very long time. In fact, I think this is one of the most well kept secrets about a regular yoga practice. I know that many experts talk about all of the physical benefits of yoga such as flexibility, strength, balance, alignment, reduced stress, better sleep and many others. Also, the benefits of combining yoga and meditation are well noted. But I was pleasantly surprised to find someone who actually talked about the feeling of happiness that comes from the practice of yoga.

Sometimes, when you talk with someone who has practiced yoga and they seem to speak in such positive terms about almost everything. In other words, they seem to always see the glass as half-full. I am not saying that people who experience this deep sense of happiness are not aware and concerned about things that are going on in their community or the world but they are able to try to use their creativity to try to express positive alternatives for some of the complex problems that they face in their own lives.

If you look around at all of the people who are practicing yoga; from movie stars to prisoners you might ponder if there is any other system that has the unique capacity for inclusion of people from all walks of life in such a profound way.

We have always heard that "you can't buy happiness" and I believe that more and more people across the globe are beginning to realize this as truth. And we know that everyone wants happiness and peace. I think we might be on track towards these two goals if we learn more about the benefits of yoga and use it for the intended outcome that we all desire; Simply Happiness and Peace.
